Description | Archives of Andrew Blick and George Jones. Includes transcribed interviews with officials who worked at No 10 Downing Street from 1912 to the late 1990s. In addition there are journal, magazine and press articles about British Prime Ministers back to the early 18th Century; reports of seminars and conferences about them, and news cuttings; and working papers, including unpublished drafts of articles and conference papers. |
Admin History | Dr Andrew Blick was a doctoral student at QMUL, supervised by Professor Lord Hennessy, and is now a Lecturer at King's College London; George Jones was an Honorary Professor at QM and is Emeritus Professor of Government at LSE. They have co-authored the following two books: Premiership: the Development, Nature and Power of the Office of the British Prime Minister (Exeter: Imprint Academic, 2010) At Power's Elbow: Aides to the Prime Minister from Robert Walpole to David Cameron (London: Biteback Publishing, 2013). The papers in the collection include documents used in research and writing these books and other material relating to their teaching and research. |
