Admin History | Divinity lectures, in the form of a series of lectures delivered by external theolgians, was established by Agnes de Selincourt as a substitute to Constance Maynard's weekly Bible classes, the first lecture taking place in 1915. Prior to this however, and in addition to Bible classes, Constance Maynard established the Divinity Faculty in 1901, which ceased c.1910.
The Maynard-Chapman Divinity series of lectures began in the academic year 1945-1946 when the Maynard Memorial Fund was combined with the Lady Chapman Fund to fund the open public lectures. |
