| Description | Meeting papers of the Regional and Local Government Advisory Committee, an advisory committee to the Labour Party's Home Policy Committee. The papers relate to meetings from 1965 to 1970. The Advisory Committee was established following the election of a Labour Government in 1964, broadly continuing the work of the Local Government Sub-Committee (see AC/1). Ann Carlton had become Local Government Officer and Secretary of the Regional and Local Government Advisory Committee by March 1967. She was also Acting Secretary at a meeting in December 1966. The papers consist of meeting reminders, agendas, minutes and papers for discussion at meetings. They primarily cover the topics of local government reorganisation, local elections, local government conferences and housing and town planning. |
