| Description | Auld studied at East London Technical College before 1902. He then returned to East London College 1906-1908 as a part time research student studying for a Doctor of Sciences in Chemistry. He was awarded a Doctor of Sciences July 1908 by the University of London. He served in both World Wars. He became a fellow of Queen Mary College in 1956.
