January 1909 two committees were established, the East London College Committee who managed the educational work of the charity and the People's Palace Committee to manage the recreational work. They both reported to the Visiting Governors of the People's Palace. April 1913 East London College Council was established replacing the role of the Visiting Governors of the People's Palace for East London College. East London College Committee then became the Standing Committee reporting to the Council. |
