DescriptionEngraving of a naval battle inspired by the work of Guilio Romano, originally engraved 1538.
Image: May be a representation of an episode from Book 14 of Homer's Iliad due to the presence of the chariot of Poseidon in the waves at the left. The nude male figure in the foreground may be the lord of the sea, described as leading the Greeks with a long sword in hand. The warrior lying on the ground beneath him may be the Trojan prince Hector.

Includes inscription 'I B MANTUANUS / Sculptor 1538'.
