TitleQuand les parents votent, les enfants trinquent, Anonymous
LevelItem
Date1968
Extent1 outsize item
DescriptionPoster in response to the May 1968 student revolution in France of police repression, stamped Faculte des Sciences.

Text: 'Quand les parents votent, les enfants trinquent.' [When the parents vote, the children suffer/pay the price]. This is an ironic reference to a well known French saying 'Quand les parents boivent, les enfants trinquent' [When the parents drink, the children suffer].

The image of this print is a reference against the heavy handed tactics used by the police in dealing with the student demonstrations and protests.
